Implied Consent & Express Consent

Within Europe, data privacy laws within some countries requires either Implied Consent (based on your agreements with your clients to deliver services) or express consent (the client has explicitly identified that they can be marketed to) before you can reach out to contacts and send them marketing communications and/or event invitations.

OnePlace can be configured to enable tracking of implied or express content. If this feature has been enabled and a contact does not have either the “Implied Contact Consent” or “Express Contact Consent” tick box checked, the system will update an Exclusion reason against the contact is the contact is included in a Publication or Function. The presence of the Exclusion reason will exclude the contact from being send the Publication or an invitation to a Function (Event) via the automated integrations with Vuture and/or Concep

No Implied Content

No Expressed Consent

Deceased - Contact Status

Contacts with a status of Deceased are not shown in search results in the “Manage Contacts” functionality and as such can’t be added into Lists and therefore into Publications or Functions

Not applicable

Archived- Contact Status

A contact is normally Archived when the firm does not wish to engage with the contact or has lost track of the contact because they have changed roles or jobs.

On change to a Archived status the “Unsubscribe from all communications” checkbox is auto checked on the contact.

When a contact is added as a Publication subscriber or invitee on a Function, OnePlace will capture an exclusion reason against the contact within the Publication or Function. The presence of the exclusion reason will be honored by the integrations that OnePlace has with eMarketing solutions such as Vuture & Concep. These solutions will stop these contacts from receiving the Publication or an invitation to the Function

Anti Lists

The objective of an Anti List is to build a list of contacts that the firm has decided should never receive communications and/or invitations. As an example, you track competitors and competitor contacts but you want to make sure they don’t receive communications and/or invitations.

Similarly, an Anti List could also be used to unsubscribe people from specific Publications
